The team played in the first two seasons of the BPL, however, after the suspension of all BPL franchises the original franchise has not been re-established for the third season in 2015-16. The current franchise joined the league in 2016 as a replacement for the Khulna Royal Bengals. The team plays its home matches in three stadiums: Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The team’s official kit color is blue and the Premier Bank Limited became the franchises sponsor on 16 November 2019 and was subsequently renamed to Khulna Tigers. Rajshahi Royals The Rajshahi Royals were founded in 2012 as the Duronto Rajshahi and have been renamed as the Rajshahi Kings in 2016. The franchise played in the first seasons of the Bangladesh Premier League and qualified for the playoffs twice. However, they have not won the BPL title until the 2019-20 season when they beat Kuhlna Tigers by 21 runs. The team plays its home games in the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket stadium which has a capacity of 25,416. The team plays its home matches in the Sylhet International Stadium which has a capacity of 22,500 and it is located in Sylhet. IT specialist Shahed Muhit is the chairman of the team and the team intends to establish the team to bridge the gap between its cricket stars and its passionate fans. Cumilla Warriors The Cumilla Warriors are a franchise of the Bangladesh Premier League. The team was founded in 2015 and is therefore amongst the youngest BPL teams. Moreover, it is also one of the most successful franchises in recent years. The Warriors have won the championship two times and have the highest winning percentage of the whole competition (63.46%). The team joined the league during the expansion of the Bangladesh Premier League. The BCB decided to expand the competition and the Cumilla Warriors won the title in their debut season after they beat Barisal Bulls in the final match of the season.
