For the Dota2 community, the month of September was the post-TI6 fall shuffle period, where the teams were looking to strengthen their roster for the next six months. Teams like Evil Geniuses, Team Secret, DC Gaming, and OG gaming are gearing themselves for the fall period. Meanwhile, the SEA region continues to see some action. The region hosted the recent MPGL Southeast Asian Championship, and like always, it was a joy to watch. Let’s jump into our DotA 2 Power Rankings:
Execration are the MPGL Southeast Asian Champions. After delivering below-par performance in the TI, things looked well for the champs. They beat MVP.Phoenix to claim the title and looked fully composed, beating the opposition in less than 25 minutes each game.
MVP.Phoenix was not ready to play an opponent and lost both cards in less than 25 minutes. The team lost its first match of the upper bracket but managed to perform well in the lower bracket to reach the final. However, they were no match to the undefeated Team Execration.
Mineski is ranked third after losing to both the runner ups and the champions. The team performed well in the initial stages of the tournament when they beat MVP.Phoenix in the first round of the upper bracket. They failed to deliver in the semi-finals, and ended up earning a well-respected 3rd rank.
Well it was the debut of the squad of Fnatic after the fall shuffle. However, they managed to win only one game in the tournament. This could be due to team inexperience and the roster will need to show a better performance in future matches.
The team, after beating EHOME.Keen comfortably, lost to Mineski in the Upper bracket and lost to Fnatic in the Lower Bracket. Currently ranked 5th in the Sea and Oceania ranking, the team will be looking to pick themselves up for the upcoming tournaments.
After beating Tangerine, Power Gaming lost to MVP.Phoenix in the 2nd round of the lower bracket. Although the team looked quite decent against Tangerine, they failed to deliver against the runner-ups.
After fighting tooth and nail against White Fries Gaming in the lower bracket of the group stages, Signature Trust lost comprehensively to Warrior Gaming.Unity in the first round of the Lower Bracket playoffs.
The team was able to secure only one victory against EHOME.Keen in the tournament and Power Gaming delivered the finishing blow to knock them out of the tournament.
EHOME.Keen are among the biggest disappointments of the competition because they lost all of their games, even though they received direct invite to the tournament.
Another team matching the record of EHOME.Keen is White Fries Gaming. They also received a direct invite to the tournament. However, they were unable to register a win, landing them in the last spot in our DotA 2 Power Rankings.
