Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Pro Strategy Hello, again guys! In our CS: GO Beginner Strategy we gave you the basics of the game along with some useful tips on how you can improve. Now it’s time to step into the deep and see what distinguishes the regular from the professional players. Right positioning, best defensive spots, off-angles, one-way smokes, and different executes and strategies are just a few of the important aspects covered in our Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Pro Strategy Devote Yourself to the Game First of all, you need to dedicate your life to the game. If you want to be a professional player, you really need to take the game seriously as in any other profession. No matter if you have a huge talent or you achieve your goal by hard training, it’s important for you to practice in a competitive environment against players of your level and those better than you. This is the only way that you can learn something and improve yourself as a player. Counter-Strike Global Offensive Review Be a Team Player Almost all (of course there are some exceptions) of the professional players are ready to swallow their egos and play for the team. And since Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a team game, you can’t win alone. You need to cooperate with your teammates. If you think you are better, put this thought out of your mind, be a leader of your team, and lead them to the victories. Prove That You are a Top Player To be a top player, you need to prove that you are a top player. The best way for new players to prove themselves is indeed by playing a lot and attending local LAN events. If you show you are able to improve and work within a team, there is a good chance that a better team will pick you up sooner or later. Schedule a Training Routine You need to practice every single day! Create a training program which will fit your play style and stick to it. If you main AWP, then max this weapon in your training sessions, but of course don’t forget or ignore other weapons. You need to train your aim, recoil, taps movement, and much more. You can check this example of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive training schedule and try to model it to fit your needs. Day Warmup Aim training Recoil training Smoke training Deathmatch 1 10 min 20 min (aim training, a1) 15 min (AK47 & M4) – 40 min (DM FFA) 2 10 min 20 min (aim training, a1) 15 min (AK47 & M4) – 40 min (DM FFA) 3 10 min 20 min (aim training, a1) 15 min (AK47 & M4) – 40 min (DM FFA) 4 10 min 20 min (aim training, a2) 15 min (Galil & Famas) – 40 min (DM AIM) 5 10 min 20 min (aim training, a2) 15 min (AK47 & M4) – 40 min (DM FFA) 6 10 min 20 min (aim training, a2) 15 min (Galil & Famas) – 40 min (DM FFA) 7 10 min 20 min (aim training, a2) 15 min (AK47 & M4) 15 min (de_inferno, site B) 25 min (DM FFA) 8 10 min 20 min (aim training, a2) 15 min (Galil & Famas) 15 min (de_inferno, site A) 25 min (DM AIM) 9 10 min 20 min (aim training, a3) 15 min (Galil & Famas) 15 min (de_dust2, site A) 25 min (DM FFA) 10 10 min 20 min (aim training, a3) 15 min (Galil & Famas) 15 min (de_dust2, mid) 25 min (DM FFA) Know the Best Positions In the first half of our article, we emphasized the mental side of being a pro. Now it’s time for some pure Counter-Strike: Global Offensive aspects. Every single map has its own specifics, and knowing the best spots to defend the bombs gives you a huge advantage against your opponents. This works well in both cases if you are Counter-Terrorist and want to prevent a bomb plant, or if you are Terrorist and want to defend already planted C4. So learn which are the best spots and find where you feel comfortable. When you find which positions fit best on your play style, you will turn into a really solid player. Counter-Strike Global Offensive Sportsbooks Win 1 Versus 1 Duels This is extremely important if you are playing on an Entry role in your team and need to take some early kills to open the round for your teammates. The most popular technique is the “shoulder picking”. Basically, the idea here is that you need to show only your shoulder from the edge of the wall to get information where your opponents are. After that you have two options: to give that info to your teammates and go for executing on current or other bomb sites, or if you are in a better position than your opponent, you can re-pick and try to kill him. Shoulder picking is used by all Pro players when they want to check some off angles and get important information about enemies positions. You also need to know where you can and can’t pick with the different weapons. For example, it will be really hard to try to win a duel versus an opponent at AWP position if you have a weaker weapon like an AK47 or M4A1. So you need to pick your battle wisely. If you didn’t kill the opposing player, don’t try to re-pick. Use the information, gather with your team, and go together. Use One Way Smokes The definition of the one-way smoke is a grenade which gives you an advantage over your enemies by giving you vision which they don’t have. If you want to understand it better, check our Dust 2 One-Way Smokes article, where we give you some of the most popular and commonly used one way smokes on the map Dust 2. To improve individually you need to learn various one way smokes and use them in your team strategies and tactics. CS: GO Strategies and Tactics This is one of the most important aspects of being a good player and, respectively, a good team; of course we have it covered in our Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Pro Strategy. Right usage of tactics and strategies can distinguish the gathers from serious and experienced squads. Of course, similar to other eSports disciplines, there are some strong tactics in current meta, which depend on the status of the maps. Most of the professional teams got used to their opponent’s tactics and strategies and because of that, can counter some of the popular executes of bomb sites with a right positioning on the map. This causes teams to come up with new tactics in order to surprise their enemies and has strong map control.
