The latest StarCraft 2 patch 3.7 brings some incredible changes to the game. With the updates, StarCraft publishers can introduce the Nova Commander, a new hero that can be controlled on the battlefield. Collection tab, a new section in the user interface, gives users the chance to one stop shop all in-game rewards. Last but not least, the StarCraft 2 1v1 ladder now tracks a separate MMR value depending on the race, including Random as well. And of course a whole bunch of small changes to the interface, gameplay, campaigns, etc.
Nova is a new hero, and with two modes she can easily swap between Assault and Stealth. In addition to her presence on the battlefield, she can also manipulate the battle to support her small force of powerful operatives, thanks to her top-bar abilities. With two new emoticons included, Nova is currently available as a stand-alone purchase for all players.
Collection is a new section in the StarCraft 2 user interface that consolidates all of your earnable in-game content under a single umbrella. Now you can browse and equip rewards or purchase new ones.
With the following sub-menus: Skins, Announcers, Emoticons, Portraits, Decals and Animations, Collection Tab has a variety of options for the players.
A separate MMR per race has been added to the StarCraft 2 1v1 ladder.
The StarCraft 2 1v1 ladder will now track a separate MMR value for each race, including Random. This means that players can now earn separate ranks for each race.
At the start of 2016 Season 5, players will be required to complete 5 placement matches for each race to place into the ladder, even if they were active the previous season. This is a one-time requirement for this season in order to ensure rating accuracy. Now players can achieve Grandmaster with more than one race.
To ensure continued accuracy of GM rankings, the activity requirement for both GM and Archon GM has been increased from 10 games every 3 weeks to 30 games every 3 weeks. Along with that, the promotion for the new players is now more gradual, reducing the likelihood that a player might receive one big promotion. It is now possible for new players to be promoted at any point after completing their 5 placement matches.
The Ladder tab on the Score Screen also inspired some changes. After Patch 3.7 it will display the League and Tier represented by your current MMR.
Your name is now highlighted when viewing the Contender or Grandmaster player list to improve ease of viewing.
