Home I All Guides I DFS Guides I DFS I Premier League Week 7 Preview
As we’ve come to expect from the Premier League, Week 6 was packed to the rafters with action, shocks, and surprises. Before starting with our Premier League Week 7 Preview, let’s take a look at the past matchweek.
Manchester United found their form in the most destructive way against reigning champions Leicester City, Everton suffered their first defeat of the campaign, and Manchester City – briefly – looked troubled at Swansea.
Elsewhere, Liverpool marched on against Hull City and Christian Benteke found the net once again for his new employer Crystal Palace while Arsenal dismantled Chelsea in the evening kick off.
Phew, that’s exhausting just writing that. What will Week 7 bring? Let’s find out in our latest DFS Premier League Week 7 Preview.
It’s a European gameweek, and that means that the Saturday DFS slate is reduced to a paltry five matches.
Not to worry though; there’s still plenty of standout picks and sleeper choices to help compliment your draft.
These are troubled times for Swansea City having won just one of their opening six encounters, but it’s not all doom and gloom: in patches, at least, they have looked competitive.
They could have scored two or three against Manchester City, for starters, and a fortnight prior they took advantage of a slack Chelsea to bag a point there. The fact that their performance levels are gradually improving will be of some comfort.
But Liverpool…wow, they are absolutely flying at the moment. Eleven goals scored in their last three outings, a trio of wins back-to-back; no wonder Jurgen Klopp is smiling every time you see him.
The Reds’ firepower in attack is likely to lead them to glory here, with the Swans conceding seven goals in their last three home matches. The likes of Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho should be at the forefront of your Week 7 draft.
There’s not much to write home about here for DFS managers. Although with Hull has conceded nine in their last two outings, clearly Chelsea’s litany of attacking talent, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, most notably, are of interest.
Defensively the Blues are in disarray at the moment while Hull, despite their woes, have somehow managed to score in five of their last six. We’ll be avoiding Chelsea’s defensive roster here.
It’s a bold pundit who tries to predict Watford’s results at the moment: a week after beating Manchester United, they were put to the sword by Burnley and succumbed to a 0-2 defeat. Roberto Pereyra looked handy, but the Hornets lost their sting in Lancashire on Monday evening.
Bournemouth picked up only their second win of the campaign last time out against high flying Everton, and the confidence they take from that match could well propel them to a positive outcome here. It’s just, what with Watford being so unpredictable, their players don’t really feature in our dream draft.
Here’s a game to avoid when drafting your goalkeeper/defenders. Both West Ham and Middlesbrough have conceded in 5/6 matches this season. With neither team looking like a winner at the moment there really is little to whet the appetite of DFS managers here.
That said, with both teams conceding frequently, there’s a chance to slip a few low price, high value midfielders into your roster. The likes of Michail Antonio and Cristian Stuani immediately spring to mind.
Completing the Saturday slate and thus our DFS Premier League Week 7 Preview is this less than mouth-watering fixture between two sides that rarely feature in a daily fantasy manager’s thinking.
There is an option to draft a West Brom defender or two. They don’t concede many, and Sunderland’s attack is rather toothless. Indeed, without Jermain Defoe (who has scored four of their five goals this term), it is hard to know where their goals are coming from at all. Keep the little man quiet and you won’t be hearing these Black Cats purr.
