Home I All Guides I DFS Guides I DFS I Premier League Week 6 Preview
This is more like it: a stacked slate on Saturday that offers up eight games for our DFS delectation. There are some interesting games (Arsenal vs Chelsea), some not-so-interesting fixtures (Stoke City vs West Brom) and some that should offer excellent DFS value (Middlesbrough vs Tottenham). Without further ado, here’s a DFS premier league week 6 preview of some of the key matches.
What a start it has been to the 2016/17 campaign for Liverpool, who in the space of just five games, has beaten Arsenal, Leicester City, and Chelsea; scoring a pretty hefty ten goals.
They should have no problem seeing off Hull City then, and that is a fair enough comment. After a promising start, the Tigers have tasted defeat twice and played out a turgid 1-1 draw with Burnley in their last three outings.
Their bubble was always likely to burst: a caretaker manager given the job permanently, as Mike Phelan has, almost always coincides with a downturn, and Liverpool will be licking their lips with anticipation. This will be just the second time they have played in front of their Anfield faithful this season.
For DFS managers, it is in attacking areas where the Reds are most likely to flourish. So make a note of this for your draft.
The owner of the best defensive record in the EPL will be looking to continue their fine form without the goals from Harry Kane, who looks set for two months on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
That will be music to the ears of Middlesbrough, who after a positive start to life as a Premier League team, have suffered consecutive defeats from Crystal Palace and Everton.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has a decision to make on how he replaces Kane: he could introduce summer signee Vincent Janssen into the fray, who has largely disappointed in his performances to date, or Pochettino could instead push Son Heung-Min further forwards into a central role.
The South Korean has impressed so far this season with his attacking play, and that is an option surely worth exploring. Either way, Tottenham can call upon the league’s best defence where required – they have conceded just two goals so far.
Everton’s incredible start to the season has been one of the hottest topics of discussion. No DFS Premier League Preview would be complete without the inclusion of the Toffees right now.
On Saturday they come up against a Bournemouth side who are capable of decent performances but who generally get overpowered when playing against quality opposition (both Manchester sides and West Ham have already beaten them).
We would certainly put Everton into this category, so don’t be surprised if we see an away win here.
The evening kick-off (5:30pm GMT) is an absolute stormer of a fixture. Arsenal welcoming Chelsea to the Emirates Stadium, and what is particularly of interest here for DFS managers is that neither team is defending properly at the moment.
Arsenal has kept just one clean sheet this season, which is surprising given that they are believed to be one of the best teams in the country. And Chelsea look so vulnerable when John Terry is absent; as witnessed by the four goals they have conceded in two starts since he suffered a foot injury.
This could be a great game to watch, and goals are almost assured.
