Player of the Month – coldzera

Marcelo “coldzera” David is one of the core players of the Brazilian team, SK.Gaming, where he is playing with the best IGL in the world – Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo. Coldzera’s impact in the SK games the past month was massive.

First, let’s check his performance in all October games. Coldzera ended this hard month with a spectacular 1.29 KDR from 39 matches.

As it’s clear from the picture that coldzera, FalleN, and Fernando “fer” Alvarenga are the players with the best performance in October. Epitácio “TACO” de Melo and João “felps” Vasconcellos are also with a positive ratio of 1.03 and 1.04. However, they are way behind coldzera in this statistic.

Last month, coldzera had an incredible match against FaZe for Epicenter 2017. Marcelo ended the match on Overpass with 28 kills and only 5 deaths or a KDR of 2.29. This is his highest performance of the whole month.

On the other end is the battle between SK.Gaming and Team Liquid for ECS Season 4 North America, where Marcelo and his teammates lost 16:4. His Kill/Death Ratio there was 0.55, the lowest for October.

Player of the Month – Tournaments

As we mentioned, October was pretty busy for coldzera and his respected teammates. They took part in the LAN event Epicenter 2017 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Moreover, they played their matches for the regular seasons of ECS and the ESL PRO League.

We will concentrate on the event held in Russia, because coldzera earned his spot as our Player of the Month precisely because of this competition.

 

SK.Gaming won over Virtus.Pro in the finals of the tournament in a thrilling 5 matches. Coldzera was again above everyone, solidifying his good form. As it’s clear from the infographic, Marcelo ended the tournament with the best performance, way above average values. Well deserved, he took home the MVP award and the title in St.Petersburg.

But again, why coldzera is so important for his team? Because he is clutch! What do we mean? Coldzera has the unique skill to win battles when he is the last one standing in the round.

Last month, he had 14 clutch situations and won 8 of them, which is around 57%. In other words, it means that 8 of these 14 rounds went in favor of SK.Gaming thanks to the coldzera experience of the game and his ability to win in the tough situations.

Coldzera History

At last, we will speak little about the path of coldzera and how he became so successful at Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

There is no data about David’s teams from the period when he first started to play. We can only say that he was part of teams such as Gamerhouse, Afterall Gaming, Golden Glory, and Dexterity.  His rise started with the Brazilian team Luminosity. They made a real revolution in  Counter-Strike, winning almost everything before the whole squad was transferred to the European Giant – SK.Gaming. Of course, the successes did not stop.

The hard work of the whole team kept them in top 3 in the world team ranking for more than 2 years. Due to his incredible plays and nice attitude, coldzera was chosen for the Player of the Year Award at the end of 2016!
