Home I Daily Fantasy Sports I DFS Featured Articles I NFL Week 2 Power Rankings
NFL Week 2 is almost over and we are taking a look at our NFL Power Rankings. See who is the best in the NFL at the moment.
First on our list are the Chiefs, who threw the bomb in Week 1 by beating the Super Bowl favorites from New England. QB Alex Smith recorded 4 TD passes in this memorable 69-point game against the Patriots. Smith’s synergy with the torpedo Tyreek Hill and the diamond rookie Kareem Hunt will be key for the battle against the Eagles in Week 2. We are witnessing another powerful Chiefs season in the making.
Last year the team from Kansas was hammering everyone on its way to the AFC final game, but the Steelers somehow managed to pull a win without scoring a single TD. Even if the Chiefs fail to impress against the Eagles, they have already earned the title of “Patriots Executioners” and a well deserved top place on our list of NFL Top Teams for Week 2.
With the experience of QB Ben Roethlisberger and arguably the best WR and RB in the league in the faces of Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell, the Steelers have a lot of options for offensive plays. What the team is lacking so far is defense.
This year the black and yellows have T.J. Watt – the rookie linebacker motivated to achieve the greatness of his brother J.J. The Steelers started the regular season with a win against the renewed formation of the Browns.
During their match in Week 1, the Packers didn’t let Seattle score a single touchdown. The Green Bay defense did a great job not letting Seahawks’ QB Russell Wilson line up along the best fantasy quarterbacks.
The team relies on the creativity of Aaron Rodgers and although we expected more from him, he managed to lead his fellows to a victorious start to the season. Next game is against the Super Bowl runner-up from last year – the Atlanta Falcons.
QB Matt Ryan and his superstar WR Julio Jones opened the season in style, beating the Bears in a thrilling football spectacle. They managed to hold the lead in the fourth quarter after being just five yards away from the loss. Julio Jones’ wrist injury was a concern but now he is healthy and ready to prove he is better than Jordy Nelson and the rest of the Green Bay Packers wide receivers. The game against the Bears was a shaky start but a win is a win and the rest is history. The Falcons are focused on the next match which is going to show if there are really a playoff-capable team this year.
The 26-16 win against the Titans has put the Raiders in our top 5. RB Marshawn Lynch made a powerful return to the NFL with 76 yards. His speed and physicality are going to be the key factors against the Jets tonight.
Experts consider the Raiders a definite playoff team. Some even believe this year they have a clear chance to reach the big game – Super Bowl LII.
Both teams lost their Week 1 games and threw their fans into doubts. Both teams have Super Bowl potential and great quarterbacks. The Patriots are one Brandin Cooks ahead of the Saints though. They acquired the wide receiver from New Orleans during the off season to fulfill their deep pass needs.
We should never rule out Tom Brady or Drew Brees, as a single loss doesn’t mean much. The game between the two great franchises is going to be a real show – two hurt lions battling to keep their chances of staying among the Super Bowl favorites.
According to ESPN, Sam Bradford and Tommy Kramer are the only Vikings quarterbacks to throw for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in a season opener. And Kramer did it 37 years ago. The Vikings showed explosive runs and an outstanding QB during the game against the Saints, winning 29-19.
The rookie RB Dalvin Cook rushed for 127 yards, thus breaking Adrian Peterson’s record of the most rushing yards made by a rookie in an NFL debut. The wide receivers Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs also impressed (and earned a lot of fantasy points). The Vikings are shaping up to be a huge powerhouse this season. The only concern is their defense.
Week 1’s biggest surprise came from the Jaguars. They destroyed the Houston Texans 29-7, executing 10 sacks. The defense was a huge part in this remarkable victory but rookie RB Leonard Fournette also made a great impression with 100 rushing yards.
Entering the 2017 NFL Season as underdogs, the Jacksonville Jaguars are no longer a joke. In Week 2 they face the Titans, who already have a loss from their first game.
The Dolphins have kept their high preseason expectations. We couldn’t see their new face in Week 1 due to Hurricane Irma’s disturbance, but now the stadium in Miami is ready to receive the LA Chargers. QB Jay Cutler is the biggest hope for the seablue team.
Combined with the RB monster Jay Ajayi, they posses a huge threat to any opponent. The Chargers didn’t impress much overall during their loss in game 1 against the Broncos, but they did mobilize in the fourth quarter to score 14 points.
The Detroit Lions were never considered as one of the favorites but what they did in Week 1 proved otherwise. In the fourth quarter of the game against the Cardinals, QB Matthew Stafford and his teammates earned the respect nobody was paying them. After being down 17-15, the Lions called upon their inner beasts and scored 20 points for a 35-23 win.
And this was done against the team with the number one overall fantasy pick – RB David Johnson. Watch out for the Lions in Week 2, as they go hunting Giants in New York.
