Home I eSports I eSports I New Details of CS:GO Cache Remake
One of the most popular maps of the Counter-Strike title is set to undergo a redesign. This information was revealed recently by one of the creators, FMPONE.
User FMPONE worked on the original Cache map with Volcano for Counter-Strike: Source back in 2011. He revealed the redesign by posting a screenshot of the possible new CT spawn site from Cache. It seems to have been completely invaded by nature, with all the grass and greenery.

If we look closely at the shared photo, we can see on the screenshot that the map has been saved as NEWde_cache / LIVE / CT_Spawn. If this rework is proven and confirmed by Valve, then Cache would become the sixth card to get a redesign in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Previously Nuke, Inferno, Train, Season, and Dust 2 were remade.
If the map is indeed completely reworked by FMPONE, we could expect to see several visual improvements along with the added touches of greenery.
We could also expect to see other potential changes to this prestigious competitive map. It would be quite odd to see Valve change only the graphical look of Cache, even though it is currently one of the most balanced maps in the game. FMPONE has said on his stream that the map is full of big trees. Looking at the overlay of the map, it looks like a couple of areas have also been added. The map has all the feels of a post-nuclear war zone.
There is no fixed date on the release of the map. However, it is expected to be released sometime in 2019. It could be released alongside to the new remake of Cobblestone. FMPONE has also been working on other maps like Subzero. This map is rumored to be a part of the competitive scene for next year. We might also see a couple of more maps that have not been leaked so far. So just sit back and enjoy getting new gifts from Valve.

It is a pleasure to see Valve working on the future of the CS:GO title. The game has always been in the spotlight, and it faces hard competition from other eSports titles. Even though the community of CS:GO is quite small compared to other games, their dedication is keeping the title alive so far. 2019 is going to be a big year for the game since a lot of new maps are set to be introduced. There is a chance these changes might not be welcomed by the community at first. But change is what required to keep CS:GO in the race and Valve knows it. So, we wish all the best of luck to the prestigious FPS title.
