Home I eSports I eSports I NetBet eSports Betting Markets and Odds
Although relatively new to eSports, NetBet is already covering a wide range of competitive games. Their odds quality is also decent, but so far, there is a lack of variety in the betting opportunities. Learn more useful information about NetBet eSports Betting Markets and Odds in our detailed guide!
Even with 14 years experience in providing online betting markets, NetBet is relatively new to eSports. However, you can find some of the most popular games covered by the sportsbook. No matter if you are a fan of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, or StarCraft 2, you can bet on your favorite teams and players!
The main focus of NetBet eSports betting markets is on the popular money line type of bets for the outcome of the matches.
So far, there is no handicap or over/under betting offered, but with the massive growth of the eSports competitive scene, we expect these two popular betting types to be added to the company soon.
There is certainly a lack of variety for the eSports betting markets offered by NetBet. As we already said, the company is focusing on the main eSports betting markets. From time to time, it is possible to bet on outrights and pick the winner of the event, before it starts.
No matter if you prefer American, Fractional, or Decimal odds, NetBet is giving you the chance to use your favorite. Below, we will analyze each type and show you how to better recognize and understand the different NetBet Odds.
Firstly, we will start with the most popular European odds type, known as Decimal odds. They are actually really easy to understand since the odds are expressed in numeric form. To calculate your profit you just need to use this simple formula:
Your Stake x Odds = Returns (Stake + Profit)
To be more precise, we will use the NetBet example with decimal odds view of the LoL match between Royal Never Give Up and Fenerbahce Esports.
Odds are 1.18 for the Korean boys from Royal Never Give Up and 4.35 for Fenerbahce’s League of Legends team. To calculate the profit easily, we will use a $10 bet.
RNG Bet – $10×1.18 = $11.8 ($10 stake + $1.80 clear profit)
FENERBAHCE Bet – $10×4.35 = $43.5 ($10 stake + $33.50 clear profit)
Nothing too complicated. Now you know how bookmakers calculate your profit using decimal odds view. Let’s move on to another famous European odds view, Factional odds.
You can easily recognize them because they are the only odds consisting of two numbers divided by a slash line. To understand them, you just need to know this formula:
“how much you will win”/”how much you stake”
In other words, the left number is an indicator of your potential profit, while the right is displaying the required stake.
Once again, in the NetBet example of the match between RNG and Fenerbahce, you would need to bet $23 on the Koreans side for a $4 profit. On the other hand, if you place a bet on the Turkish squad, with $10 you can take $33 as a reward.
Finally, we have the American odds view. They are the only odds displayed with negative and positive numbers. A positive number indicates your potential profit with a $100 stake, while negative shows you how much you need to bet to win $100.
Looking at our NetBet example we can conclude that a $100 bet on Fenerbahce will bring you back $240 clear profit. If you want to win at least $100, betting on Royal Never Give Up, a $560 wager is needed for that purpose.
We always take the bookmakers margin as the major ranking factor of checking the odds quality. As a bettor it is important that margin be as low as possible, because the higher the margin, the smaller the profit.
The calculation is simple:
Again, we can use the match between League of Legends teams RNG and Fenerbahce. Odds were 1.18 for the Korean team and 4.35 for their rivals. So the calculation will look like this:
(1/1.18)*100 + (1/4.35)*100 = 84.74 + 22.98 = 107.7
In this case, the NetBet margin for League of Legends market is around 8 percent. In the following table, you can see the margin for all offered games:
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive— 9%
DotA 2— 8.3%
League of Legends— 8.7%
Hearthstone— 8.6%
The company is offering a decent Welcome Bonus of up to £50 for its new clients. To get it, you need to register a new account, enter the promo code WELCOME50 and then make your first eSports deposit. More details and a full list of requirements are available at our well-prepared bonus guide.
