The 12th of June update brought important changes to the current game of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Valve developers responded to community requests and modified the CZ-75a and M4A1-S weapons. In addition, the Mirage map has received several changes, such as removal of the skybox and landmark art.
The changes will bring back the viability of the M4A1-S in armed rounds, with the addition of ending the favoritism of the CZ-75a. At Mirage, new strategies for bombsite B will now have to be formulated.
The M4A1-S had its ammunition reserve increased from 40 to 60 rounds. In addition to having a smaller bullet capacity than the M4A4, with only 20 bullets, the M4A1-S had little total ammunition, which hardly ever favored it against its rival. The simpler recoil and silencer was an exchange that did not make up for such little ammunition. With that, the weapon disappeared from the competitive landscape. With the reserve ammunition now increased to 60 bullets, the weapon may very well receive more attention from the community, since it can penetrate vests better than the M4A4.
The CZ, on the other hand, was nerfed. The pistol, which had returned to its popularity after the Five-SeveN and Tec-9 balancing upgrades, may have its days counted again. Base weapon damage has been reduced from 33 to 31. Modifying has made the pistol no longer lethal when hitting opponents in the head if the opponent is wearing a helmet. Coupled with the pistol’s difficult shooting pattern, the move may again favor other options for economical rounds in the competitive scene.
For MP7, developers decided to lower their purchase price from $1,700 to $1,500. So far, the weapon was hardly used, since models like UMP-45, MAC-10, and MP9 are more lethal and cheaper. However, with the price drop, MP7 may become an option for the players.
Mirage was the highlight of the update. In addition to aesthetic changes, the map had its skybox entirely removed. The skybox was an invisible limitation in the sky of the map, which made the grenade collide with an invisible wall and fall immediately. Now grenades can be launched from the entire map to other locations. This enables a range of new strategies, especially for bombsite B.
In addition, the map has improved visibility in some regions. The region of a connector has replaced textures. The purpose of doing so is that it lightens the vision for the terrorist side. In that case, the black background will not be a problem for them in future.
The CT side has also received favorable changes by improving the visibility from the stairs towards T ramp. In the vertical fence columns, bullet collision has been disabled. That will cause a shot to penetrate the material crate and hit the enemy.
The change was not implemented in the ESL One BH. However, they already adopted the changes in Asian Championships, DreamHack Open Summer, and CS:GO matchmaking.
Valve's development teams are constantly working on their titles. So in the latest update, they decided to integrate new FBI skins.
EDG has its ups and downs in the season and almost everyone criticized them at Worlds. However, they performed very well in the final match against KT.
Four participating stars in the Worlds have been fined by Riot in South Korea. The fines have been imposed upon three players and one coach.
The ESL PRO League Season 8 has kicked off. The professional teams of CS:GO from around the world are fighting to secure 16 spots in the final tournament.
