Tottenham significantly boosted their chances of advancing to the semi-finals after claiming a crucial 1-0 victory against Man City. However, this victory came at a great cost. Their main striker Harry Kae suffered an ankle injury and will miss the game at the Etihad Stadium. He’s scored 17 goals in the Premier League and 5 goals in the Champions League and is their most productive player on offense.

The first leg victory was also Tottenham’s first victory in the past five meetings between the two sides. Man City won three games straight against Tottenham prior to last week. The last time these two teams played against each other in Manchester was back in 2017. City won the match 4-1 was dominant throughout the entire match while Christian Eriksen scored the single Tottenham goal in the 90th minute.

Despite the most recent three-game winning streak, the Spurs have not been in great shape. Out of their past seven matches, they won only two and lost four games on the road. Overall, their most recent results on the road have been pretty mediocre, to say the least. They lost six of their past 10 road games and won only four.

Man City, on the other hand, is currently looking to keep their quadruple hopes alive. They have been playing a remarkable season thus far, going unbeaten in the Champions League until last week. However, their history might interfer with their dream of a historic first Champions League title. Despite their most recent victory, Tottenham will obviously still go into the game as the underdogs. Man City have been very consistent this season and their home record is almost marvelous. They have won straight 12 games at home and conceded only three games during that period. The last defeat was back in December 2018 against Crystal Palace.

Therefore it is not a big surprise that the bookies are favoring the home side in this match. Man City is currently 3/10 to win the game. These odds, however, are not looking appealing at all. The value is clearly on Tottenham in this game. Nevertheless, betting on them to either win or not to lose seems kind of a huge risk, in my opinion. Even though I feel like momentum is definitely on their side right now, I don’t feel too comfortable betting on them right away.

However, this is not where the value is at. “Both teams to score” looks much more interesting. Both teams to score is 7/8 with Betfair, which is the way to go. Manchester City has been playing exceptionally well at home, but I think that the Spurs will manage to score on the road. Taking their current form into consideration I am confident to bet on both teams to score at least once.
