We are happy to announce the long-awaited groups of the WORLDS finals are finally here! The hand of fate split the teams in a really interesting way. Sixteen of the world’s best LoL organizations will be part of the 2016 championship. The competition will be fierce and we are about to witness some of the best teams in the League of Legends competitive scene. Let’s step ahead to our WORLDS groups preview!
The first group of the playoffs looks really amazing and features some of the best teams in the world. The winners of the European Summer Split, G2 Esports, have the ambition to make it out of this tough group and reach the finals. However, in order to do so, they will need to beat another winner of a Summer Split: the Korean Rox Tigers. Additionally we will see the Americans from Counter Logic Gaming and Albus NoX Luna, coming from Challenger Series.
GROUP A:
Group B will be also very interesting. Team Cloud 9, who are in good form at the moment, are facing the champions from 2015, SK telecom T1. The Koreans will definitely want to make up for their tough loss against their big rivals from Rox Tigers. Because of that, they have to win the group. Flash Wolves and Team I May are the other two teams in the group, which will try to surprise the favorites.
GROUP B:
The boys from Edward Gaming will be facing the members of ahq eSports Club from the LMS series. H2K is the representative of the European LCS and INTZ e-Sports is going to represent Brazil during the Worlds. Group C may not feature the most popular teams in League of Legends but we can still expect high-class performances from the participating teams as they have managed to qualify for the biggest event in LoL.
Lastly, there is Group D, which looks pretty well-balanced in terms of competing teams. Firstly, we have the winners of the North American Summer split and holders of an impressive record of 17:1, Team SoloMid. Then we have the runner-up from the European Region: Team Splyce. And last but not least, we have Royal Never Give Up from the Chinese LPL and the Korean beasts from team Samsung Galaxy. Group D grabs the attention of all fans, therefore we expect hard-fought battles on the Summoner’s Rift.
GROUP D:
In the end, we can say that this year’s WORLDS Groups are very interesting and we expect some incredible moments during the championship. Very soon, we will present to you our tips and predictions article, where you can find some crucial betting advice and our assumption about the potential outcome of the group stage matches and the tournament in general.
