Home I eSports I eSports I Liquid Wins Midas Mode EU Championship
We had been waiting since February for Midas Mode. It turned out to be one of the funniest DotA 2 tournaments and surprisingly the most charitable event as well. The 8 participating teams fought for $60,000 in prizes. However, this time they would donate their winnings to different charities.

From November 18 to 28, the 4 European teams and the 4 North American teams faced each other in a round-robin format with some crazy rules.
The participants were entertained by changing roles and performing random tasks. Champions in the American Division were the players from the OpTic Gaming team. In the finals in Europe, Team Liquid beat Natus Vincere. The tournament was so popular with the audience that they have already demanded a second season.
Team Liquid defeated Natus Vincere G2A in the finals of the European division of Midas Mode. The team earned $18,000, which they will donate to an oncological hospital in Egypt, while Natus Vincere will send its share to the UNICEF International Children’s Emergency Fund. The organizers made an interesting offer. Liquid and the winner of the NA region, OpTic, were approached to play the grand finale with their prize money at stake. However, both teams refused.
Team Liquid made it to the finals as the winner of the group stage. In the match for the second slot of the EU final, NaVi overcame OG.
It is surprising as well as great to see Na’Vi making such a long run in the competition. They played with a substitute and practically without the local currency of the Moonbucks.
One aspect of Midas Mode that we really like is the understanding of how important the initiator is in the team. This mode is something like learning content with different complexities that you will not meet while playing in the pub.
The participants paid for playing activities with the help of Moonbucks, which were earned for the Challenges. The teams were divided into two divisions, NA and EU, which did not cross each other.
While the EU and NA regions were having fun, a serious competition was taking place in China. Chinese team Newbee beat Vici Gaming in the final of the Perfect World Masters tournament. The match ended with a score of 3-0.
Newbee won the championship title of the Perfect World Masters and received the grand prize of $150,000. The team also earned 150 qualifying points in the DotA 2 system and an invitation to the major DotA 2 Asia Championship. VG became a silver medalist, and they were awarded $60,000 and 90 points. While the remaining four teams, including LGD.FY and coL, received $45,000 and 15 points.
After Perfect World Masters, Newbee takes the fourth place in the Pro Circuit rating with 1,035 points. They are lagging behind Virtus.Pro (2,295), Team Secret (1,440), and Team Liquid (1,350). Perfect World Masters was held in Shanghai, China. The total prize fund of the championship was $300 thousand.
