On the first map, both teams played passively at the beginning of the game. Closer to the 20th-minute, skirmishes began for objectives in which G2 emerged victorious. After a series of battles, G2 used the split-push tactics and won the game after a successful fight.
In the second game, Misfits took a good start. After an unsuccessful battle in the middle of the game near Nashor, G2 took the advantage and destroyed the Misfits base.
The third game started successfully for G2, but their opponents soon equalized the advantage. In the middle of the game, G2 slowed down the pace of the fight. However, they had an excellent fight near Baron which laid the foundation for victory. Having broken the base, and after some exceptional plays, G2 destroyed Nexus in the final game of the series.

Distribution of the prize fund EU LCS following the results of the split:
This weekend was exceptional for the G2 organization. While the LoL team won its fourth consecutive title at the LCS EU in Paris, the CS:GO team also emerged victorious in Malmö. After the DreamHack Tours and the ESL Pro League S5, G2 won their third international title with this DH Masters.
By beating EnVyUs and Immortals, Edouard “SmithZz” Dubourdeaux’s men etched their way into the playoffs.
The final stages were not easy. First opponent of G2: the relentless SK Gaming. The Brazilians seized the first card (Cobblestone) and emerged victorious in the second (Inferno), but it was without counting on Dan “apEX” Madesclaire. In exceptional form, the opener of G2 got his team extra time before where they were the better side. The match ended in Mirage, where SK was down 11-16.
G2 continued its way by defeating Ninjas in Pajamas with ease before meeting North in the final. This time it was Kenny “KennyS” Schrub that stood out and was the key element of victory.
The final score was 2-0 in favor of G2, with 16-12 in Hell and 16-9 in Cobblestone.
They started off as terrorists in Inferno, one of the favorite maps of the side. G2 did not encounter many difficulties. The French wrecked NiP with great executions and an inspired KennyS led the team to a 11-4 win.
G2 continued on and North tried to get the victory, but not even the 29 kills of Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke were enough. G2 closed the map at 16-12.
At Cobblestone, Denmark’s choice, North got off to a good start, making it 5-0. The French reacted, narrowing the lead to 7-8 at the interval. In the second stage, G2 had an excellent defensive performance, only missing a point. The supertime closed the map in 16-9, the series in 2-0, and got the title.
KennyS took home the title of Best Player of the Tournament, awarded by hltv.org. This is the fifth of his career and the fourth of the year for the French sniper.
The result of this DreamHack Masters shows that the world order on CS:GO is no longer established. While SK and Astralis prevailed at the beginning of the year, neither of them can claim the title of being the best.
With this new title, G2 takes a certain psychological ascendancy for future encounters, a benefit they will have to exploit this weekend in the ELEAGUE Premier.
Team G2 Esports defeated North in the final of the DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017 tournament on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, with a score of 2-0. Thus, the French five won the championship title and received the grand prize of $100,000. The Danes, in turn, took the silver and received $50,000.
Gambit Esports and Natus Vincere also participated in the competitions. The first took 3-4 places and got $22,000, and the second lost to NiP in the quarterfinals of the competition and settled in 5-8 places, earning $ 10,000.
DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017 was held from August 30th to September 3rd in the Swedish city of Malmö. The total prize fund of the competition was $250,000.
