Home I Daily Fantasy Sports I Fantasy Football Week 7
Week 6 and the early Week 7 game of the NFL regular season taught us that nobody’s perfect, not even the Chiefs, who went from 5-0 to 5-2. First to put a stick in their wheel was the Steelers. Then the Raiders managed to pull out a dramatic victory in the last minutes after two repeated no-clock last downs.
Taking a look at the other side of the leaderboard, the San Francisco 49ers and the Cleveland Browns are still without a win. This week is a good time for them to avoid the shameful 0-7 record. NFL.com analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks even made some bold predictions about the underdogs.
DJ puts his fate into Cleveland’s QB DeShone Kizer and Bucky believes QB C.J. Beathard of the Niners will bring the first win for San Francisco.
Now let’s focus on this Sunday. Here’s our list of the best picks for NFL Week 7.
It is quite unfortunate that we won’t get the opportunity to watch two of the best quarterbacks in the world battling against each other in the Packers vs Saints matchup. Rodgers’ collar bone injury won’t make Drew Brees’ job easier though. It is time for QB Brett Hundley to impress and mark the beginning of his stellar career. Historically this is not something uncommon.
Tom Brady got the start for the Patriots after Drew Bledsoe suffered a terrible hit in 2001. Even Aaron Rodgers had to get outside Brett Favre’s shadow.
Brett Hundley has surely prepared for this moment. It is not an easy task to replace a legend but once you do, there is no way back. The youngster from UCLA realizes he’ll be having the shot of his lifetime this Sunday. Hundley was drafted in the 5th round of 2015 NFL Draft and immediately put in the third QB spot.
Until now he has improved a lot and earned the head coach’s trust. After Rodgers’ injury, it was Brett Hundley who replaced the superstar. He passed for 157 yards completing 18 of 33 passes and a touchdown against the mighty Vikings’ defense.
This Sunday Pittsburgh receives the Bengals at home for a matchup that usually turns into a street battle. The two teams don’t like each other and often show that on the field.
We can clearly expect some violence and probably some thick fines after the game but now let’s focus on the pick. WR Antonio Brown has always been a top performer against the Bengals. He is not afraid to take some hits and serves as QB Ben Roethlisberger’s main target.
The Steelers/Bengals rivalry is a great opportunity for the Ben/Brown duo to put an end to Ben’s performance decline. The Steelers are the favorites for this match historically and statistically, plus they have the homefield advantage – something very important in cases of ancient rivalries.
They called him old, they thought the Cardinals were crazy and labeled the move to sign RB Adrian Peterson a retirement deal. “Arizona is a great place for him to retire”, they said. But they were wrong and the ex-Viking, ex-Saint proved it last week. During his debut for the Cardinals against Tampa Bay he rushed for 134 yards and scored 2 touchdowns on 26 carries. This is three times more than the average rushing yards the Arizona Cardinals were gaining per game so far this season.
After the game Peterson was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Gameplay-wise, he is both smart and physical – gets the ball, evaluates the gaps, and then rushes in. Peterson mentioned many times that he feels more comfortable when getting the ball often but that wasn’t the case in New Orleans. He wasn’t fitting well in the Saints’ gameplan. “I feel like I’ve been reborn,” says the athlete, quoted by B/R. The only concern here is Peterson’s age (32) and whether he’ll stay healthy or not.
The game on Sunday against the Rams will be held at Twickenham Stadium, London – a rugby facility that can fit 82,000 people.
Last year the Jags were fighting to avoid last place and look at them now. Not only do they have the running back prodigy Leonard Fournette on the offense, but they’ve also built a terrifying defense led by the beast DE Calais Campbell (8 sacks).
The Jaguars Defense leads the league with 23 sacks for 6 games. And there are more to come. The Jags this year are among the elites in terms of pass defense. On Sunday they are going against Indianapolis Colts to create a pre-Halloween nightmare for QB Jacoby Brissett.
