Home I Daily Fantasy Sports I DFS Bettings I Fantasy Football Week 11 Picks
Week 11 already started with Pittsburgh Steelers recording a devastating win over the Titans at Heinz Field. One of the main reasons for the 40-17 result was Steelers’ WR Antonio Brown with 10 receptions for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Apart from that game, this week is all about the Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) who are coming off a bye week. The red-and-yellow guys from Kansas are facing the so far disappointing Giants (1-8) in New York. Picking any key position from the Chiefs’ roster this Sunday would be a good decision. Not the best, though. So we are here to present our take on the best possible picks for NFL Week 11.
Here is the first Kansas representative with a place on our NFL Week 11 list – QB Alex Smith. Last week he completed 25 of his 34 passes against the Cowboys and is overall one of the top quarterbacks in the league. In 7 of his 9 games this season, he averaged more than 250 passing yards.
Traditionally the Chiefs are a high-scoring team even if they lose. Now against the poorly-performing New York Giants’ defense, you can expect QB Alex Smith to unleash his true power and break some records.
Jay Ajayi was among the best running backs last season but this year he hadn’t impressed anyone. At least not while he was playing for the Dolphins. He had some bursts in Miami against the Chiefs and the Panthers that proved he was not at all out of shape. Truth is Jay didn’t fit into the Dolphins’ current playstyle. It was time for him to move on or be labeled as a season 2017/18 DFS bust.
With the best team in terms of season stats so far, the Eagles (8-1), Jay Ajayi is having more freedom. At least for now it seems the team’s gameplan suits him well. In his debut for Philadelphia he scored an impressive 77-yard running touchdown versus the tough Broncos defense, which is typically good against run plays. Now coming off a bye week, Ajayi is rested and ready to shine once again – this time in Dallas. Meanwhile Eagles’ head coach Doug Pederson told the media he will be increasing Ajayi’s role in the offense by a little each week. This is exactly what we expect to see in the game against the Cowboys on Sunday – a thriving and scoring Ajayi.
By the way, if you don’t feel like picking QB Alex Smith, do not hesitate to choose Tom Brady. He is in top form averaging 311.9 yards per game and is still the best in his position despite the shaky start of the season. One of Tom Brady’s biggest weapons is his deep receiver WR Brandin Cooks, acquired from the Saints this summer. In Week 11 the Patriots are going to Oakland facing the Raiders – a team that hasn’t registered an interception yet.
This game is expected to be among the highest scoring matches for the week. Statistically WR Brandin Cooks presents a huge issue to Raiders’ secondary, which occupies the last place for preventing completions. Also, Cooks’ fellow wide receiver Chris Hogan is out due to shoulder injury and WR Danny Amendola hasn’t see many throws lately.
Here is another pick from the Kansas City Chiefs. TE Travis Kelce, combined with WR Tyreek Hill, account for more than 50 per cent of QB Alex Smith’s yards and passing touchdowns. It is an interesting fact that the Giants have allowed a tight end receiving touchdown in every single game this season. Kelce is a monster and even in the loss against the Cowboys in Week 9, he scored a touchdown. Now he is coming off a bye week and is facing a low-performing team.
The New York Giants are living a nightmare this season with a fairly good QB in the shape of Eli Manning, a disastrous o-line, five injured wide receivers and one of the weakest defenses. Combine that with the Chiefs being among the highest scoring teams in the league and you get the picture. The question is not if, but how big the victory is going to be. And of course will TE Travis Kelce be able to keep the tradition and score at least one touchdown in New York.
Here is one alternative pick on the tight end position. The Jags are traveling to Cleveland this week. They will try to prolong the Browns’ (0-9) losing streak. TE Mercedes Lewis will play a key role in Jacksonville’s offense, as coaches and fans expressed concerns about the superstar RB Leonard Fournette’s health.
The matchup is in favor of the Jags, so as logic dictates, coaches would try to win while keeping Fournette injury-free. Expect pass-heavy plays. QB Blake Bortles will rely greatly on his wide receivers (keep an eye on WR Marqise Lee), with TE Marcedes Lewis being the main target against Cleveland’s defense and its pass rushing affinity.
Since Week 8 when the Cardinals were on bye, their defense has completed 10 sacks. Now the enemy QB is Texans’ Tom Savage, who has just two starts for Houston this year despite throwing two interceptions and being sacked 11 times. What is more, the last two defensive units to face the Houston Texans, the Rams and the Colts, both finished in the top 10 among the fantasy defenses.
