Home I Daily Fantasy Sports I DFS I Fantasy Football Week 10 Picks
The time has come to select the best picks for NFL Week 10. Last week was pretty challenging for the fantasy team owners, as six of the best NFL teams were on byes. What was more, one of the top performers on the quarterback position – DeShaun Watson (Houston Texans) – underwent a season-ending surgery that messed up the plans of many DFS players.
Now let’s take a look at the potential best fantasy picks for NFL Week 10, which may become the turning point in terms of determining the main playoff competitors.
This time we decided to pick two players for the quarterback position. The first one is Jared Goff of the Los Angeles Rams. Under the mentorship of the youngest coach of the NFL, Sean McVay, Goff has become a preferred fantasy starter. He has a fairly easy matchup this week against the Houston Texans at his home stadium, the Los Angeles Memorial Colosseum. Three of the last four quarterbacks to play the Texans have scored top-10 DFS points. Goff is leading one of the most high-scoring offenses in the league and the Texans secondary is allowing an average of 258.5 yards per game. In addition to that, Houston has allowed 16 passing touchdowns during the season. Even their team spirit is low due to the ridiculous DeShaun Watson injury. Given all that, Jared Goff’s mission is clear – not only win the game, but also score as many fantasy points as possible.
The Jets are on fire after an astonishing win over the Buffalo Bills last week and will be looking to continue in the same fashion. The team from New York is now 4-5 and matched up against the 2-6 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Jets still have chances to reach the playoff phase as a second-place team in the AFC East division behind the New England Patriots.
As surprisingly as it may seem, Jet’s QB Josh McCown is currently in the top 10 of the fantasy quarterback leaderboard. McCown has an easy matchup ahead, as five of the last seven QB’s facing the Buccaneers have reached top 10 in the given week. Watch out for passes to WR Matt Forte who recently expressed concerns about not getting enough receptions and that was immediately fixed.
Our Best RB Pick for NFL Week 10 this time is not RB Ezekiel Elliott. And the reason is not his performance, but the fact he is facing a suspension. The saga starring Big Zeke’s attorneys, the NFL Board and the US Court reminds me of a game of cat and mouse. You can’t be sure whether Zeke’s playing or not until the very last moment. Last week he saw 33 carries against the Redskins, this Sunday he will not play. Or at least that is the latest info we have. The Cowboys will have to rely on a weird combination of the skills of RB Alfred Morris, RB Rod Smith and RB Darren McFadden.
So we move on to the next superstar runningback in the league – Pittsburgh Steelers’ Le’Veon Bell. We can’t really remember how many times had we included this monster running back from Ohio in our Best Fantasy Picks lists. But he deserves that with his 760 yards from 194 carries so far. Bell has scored 5 touchdowns and will be looking to increase that number against the mediocre Indianapolis Colts defense. The Steelers (6-2) are coming off a bye week, ready and well-rested. Their opponents (Colts, 3-6) are experiencing hard times, mostly due to the unfortunate lack of QB Andrew Luck.
Detroit’s number 15 was one of the biggest DFS surprises during Lions’ first game of the season. In Week 1 against the Cardinals WR Golden Tate generated the highest amount of fantasy points on the wide receiver position. He recorded 107 yards then and earned a place in the DraftKings Billion Dollar Lineup. After that we haven’t seen much performance bursts from him until last week – 113 yards for Monday night’s 30-17 win over the Green Bay Packers. Tate is a great slot receiver and will surely cause a lot of problems to the toothless 0-8 Cleveland Browns this week.
Redskins’ tight end Vernon Davis is recording more than 60 yards per game on average in his last five matches and is one of the favorite targets of his QB Kirk Cousins. In Week 10 Washington (4-4) will receive some fearsome guests – the Vikings (6-2). Considering the Vikings’ pass rushing defense, their sideline play’s weakness, and the injury of Redskins’ primary wide receiver Jordan Reed (hamstring), most of the passes could go right towards the hands of TE Vernon Davis. The 33-year-old has enough experience and physical capabilities to serve as the top pass catcher for his team on Sunday.
This week the Bears are facing the Green Bay Packers without the genius of their QB Aaron Rodgers. Experts had put a lot of hopes on QB Brett Hundley but for now, the rookie doesn’t seem to be able to completely replace his legendary counterpart. The task in front of Chicago Bears seems even easier after the news about the Packers losing their starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga. The season for Bulaga is over due to a torn ACL.
The Bears defense is amazing when playing at home. Fourteen of their 23 sacks are made on home soil, as well as 2 of their 4 interceptions and 2 of their 3 return touchdowns. At Soldier Field in Chicago, the Bears have allowed 15.8 points per game as opposed to 27 points per game as guests.
