CS:GO is on its roster changes break and the North American organization NRG has just announced they have finalized the roster for their team. They’ve started with the removal of all but two of the previous members: Peter “ptr” Gurney and Jacob “FugLy” Medina. The two Americans will be joined by three new faces to NRG, Damian “daps” Steele, Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte, and Omar “MarkE” Jimenez. Meanwhile, other teams are making some rather shocking announcements.
Vexed Gaming has been without a CS:GO lineup since March of this year when the organization decided to part ways with their Polish roster, following a decision by the parent company to disassociate themselves from professional gaming. That decision seems to have been reversed however, as Vexed has announced they have secured the services of a new team, the French line-up known as WE GOT GAME.
To add to the shocking news, Team Dignitas announced this week that they will be parting ways with their roster, composed of four Danes and a Norwegian. The announcement came shortly after the team successfully qualified for the ELEAGUE Major via the Main Qualifier. The reason behind this decision is declared as the organization’s intention to build a team based in North America. On the players’ side, no announcements have been made yet.
Blizzard has sent all Overwatch players their gratitude and best wishes over the holidays, as well as five free loot boxes for every player that manages to open them before January 2nd. Because these are Winter Wonderland boxes, and they will disappear on January 2nd, be sure to log in before then and check what’s inside. It might even save you from buying specific items or give you the gold required to get that costly, Legendary collectible.
To put the icing on the cake, in a video message to Overwatch fans, director Jeff Kaplan announced the Oasis release date, as well as other new updates and gameplay tweaks. “Oasis has been on the PTR, we’ve been getting feedback, and we’ve told you since Blizzcon that our goal is a very early 2017 release for Oasis, and we’re looking on track for that.” he said. “Look for that at the beginning of the New Year. It should be a ton of fun. We have some fresh ideas for, I think some events you might guess that might be coming and some events that I don’t think you’ll have any ideas that we’re working on. There will be some surprises there, as well.”
