Home I Latest News I ESL Pro League Season 6
The fans of CS:GO have finally welcomed a big competition after PGL Krakow 2017. The best players in the world are competing for the trophy of the ESL Pro League Season 6.
EPL is undoubtedly one of the most difficult and biggest CS events in the world. The fans of the popular FPS title will be rejoiced to see their favorite teams back in action though, in the current edition of the tournament, there is a lack of Polish formation. However, it will be exciting to see the sides that have rebuilt their teams in the off-season.
On the technical side, ESL Pro League 6 is not different from the predecessor. The competition is divided into two stages. The first group stage is played, where both teams in Europe and America start with 14 teams. Each team must play 28 matches in BO1. When all the teams are in their final matches, the top six teams from each region will meet in finals.
This time the top 6 EPL participants will be welcomed in Odense on December 5-10 to compete for a total prize pool of $750,000. G2 Esports will be looking to defend their crown as they are the reigning champions.
Besides big teams like Astralis and SK Gaming, this year’s edition will have a few newcomers. Amongst other things on the list is BIG. The side will be looking to make a big impact on the big stage. Let’s have a look at some of the matches that promise to make an exciting weekend for you:
It is fair to say that Astralis is having a good group phase in the ESL Pro League. The side has played only four matches and they have still managed to get into the top seven. From the four matches played, the side has managed six points with two losses and two wins. They had a losing start to the season as they lost 2-0 to G2 Esports. However, do not focus on this, because this team can make a comeback at any time. They redeemed themselves after winning both rounds against Heroic.
Astralis can make up for these losses in this week as they have played only two matches last week. For the next week, their first test will be against NIP, a side that is struggling to get back to its winning ways.
Ninjas in Pyjamas will be aiming to rebound in Season 6. They missed the playoffs in Season 5. Moreover, they lost one of their core members, Adam “friberg” Friberg. Friberg went to OpTic Gaming in the European shuffle. NiP brought in young talent Fredrik “REZ” Sterner who started Week one with a 0-2 loss to North on Saturday. They rounded out the week over Na’Vi for a series split. So the team has three points in the bag after four games played. Currently, they are second from the bottom. The side is just above Team LDLC.com who are winless from the two games played.
The things are looking quite bleak for NiP against Astralis and the outcome is not looking in their favor. The side of NIP is yet to show some confidence and consistency. Moreover, judging from their recent performances, the side has a long road ahead to get back to its winning ways.

GODSENT is at 6th place, with only four matches played and three of them being wins. The side started its campaign against mousesports with a 2-0 series win. They, however, tied a series with Heroic 1-1, leaving them with nine points in the bag. The side has made a very good showing so far and will be aiming to further improve on their performances.
The addition of Fredrik ‘freddieb’ Buo and Dennis “Dennis” Edman has proved quite fruitful for the side. They traded Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson for Dennis “Dennis” Edman from Fnatic. While Fredrik ‘freddieb’ Buo was signed as a replacement for Markus “Promax” Wallsten who stepped down from the active roster.
The things are looking great for GODSENT no matter how you look at the side. They are ambitious, confident, and will be aiming to get the best possible result against the struggling Team EnVyUs.
Facing GODSENT, we have Team EnVyUs also scoring six points, from the six matches played. The side had a good start to the Pro League, as they took both games from HellRaisers winning 2-0. However, this was the only win for the side in ESL, as they are currently on a four game losing streak. They lost 2-0 to FaZe Clan and also dropped both maps to Danish side of North. Leaving Team EnVyUS with only two wins and four losses. That is certainly not a good trade off.
The side needs to get back to its feet and fast. However, their next opponent will surely give them a run for their money. The last time these two sides met, Team EnVy Us came got better of their opponents. So, we can surely look forward to surprises when these two sides meet on weekend.
GODSENT 2-0 Team EnvyUS
