Ten teams will be competing for the ฿405,000 (Thai Baht) prize pool in the Beyond Godlike SEA Counter Strike: Global Offensive League – Season 1. The tournament is sponsored by DXRacer and Twitch and will be played in a round-robin format. In the competition, no team will go empty handed as a Per Match Reward for Winning is ฿4,000, ฿1,500 for drawing, and even the losers will get some bite of the cherry with ฿1,000. So let’s take a look at some of the matches.
Mineski has been on a less than exciting run lately. The team has just managed to win 3 of the past 10 matchups, while securing 6 draws and 1 loss in the process. Mineski is intensely bidding to get their first trophy since June of 2016 when they won the Mineski Pro Gaming League Season VIII. They have the right tools and ammunition to do so and team captain Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguiriganis the right man for the job.
In the professional scene, DubsteP has played a sum of 63 maps, securing 1,214 kills and having a total death count of 1,188 and an impressive K/D ratio of 1.02. The player will be looking to get his hands on DE_MIRAGE and DE_CACHE since the stats show he is very comfortable on these maps with above a 70% winning percentage.
Also joining the team captain in the preference of DE_MIRAGE are the team members Ronard “GII” Tecsonand Kevin “dispenser” Depio Te. GII has played a total sum of 139 matches on this particular map and has a win rate of 71% while dispenser has a winning percentage of 78% in the 131 matches played on DE_MIRAGE.
So, it is safe to say this series will be very much in the hands of Mineski and they should get their hands on the elusive DE_MIRAGE map.
The organization Orange Esports has made quite a name for themselves in the SEA region, winning the Red Bull Coliseum CS:GO in December of 2016 and the Anime X-Over CS:GO Tournament this past week.
But the side has some background problems as the team made significant changes to the roster by signing four new players. Also adding fuel to the fire, the team lost one of its most prestigious players, Mohd “wanr0” Syazwan Hanafie on April 16th.
The player has officially joined JYP Gaming and has still has not been revealed who will take his spot. In the Beyond Godlike SEA CS:GO League – Season 1, Orange Esports have won 2 of the 5 games played while securing 3 draws.
Sabertooth, the Vietnamese team, has played a total sum of 22 professional games and currently have only 1 player on the active roster that has played all of those 22 games, Viet “shynW” Quan Nguyen. In those 22 games, the player has secured a total sum of 364 kills with a headshot percentage of 50.3%.
While on the downside, the player has total deaths of 425, making a K/D ratio of 0.86. The new signee Anh “NoMEz” Nhật Cao Minh will also be looking to impress as the 24-year-old has 242 kills in the 4 maps played while having a death count of 262 and a satisfactory K/D ratio of 0.92. The player isn’t as clean on the gun as the headshots are only 40.5% in the total kills.
“shynW” and “NoMEz” will be looking to make a name for the newbie of Sabertooth against the side of glassysky.
While glassysky lags behind Sabertooth in the competitive scene, playing only 14 professional games, the squad will be looking to Peeratch “Olivia” Ingkudanonda to get them a win against the opposition. The player has managed to get 1,931 kills in the 11 matches played for the side and 1,979 total death counts, making it a respectable k/D ratio of 0.98. He will be looking to make some big plays happen along with his teammate Phaibun “j9” Saengsermsub.
The 20-year-old has shown some impressive plays and has managed to get a K/d of 0.99. However, he should be looking to make big things happen in the Beyond Godlike tournament against Sabertooth.
